Kappenabzeichen on postcardsRoundtrip in Austria-Hungary

LIR 1

The small horns decorating the Feldjäger’s caps were certainly worn by the KuK Landwehr units as well. There is a lot of direct evidence for this. Wearing photos and, as in the current post, also printed postcards. The correspondence cards were often decorated with scenes from the life of the units, often photos or artistic drawings. In addition to the inscriptions, the emblem of the military branch often appears on rifles, and less often on Landwehr units.

The 1st Landwehr Regiment was from Vienna and was assigned to the 13th Infantry Division. The regiment’s beautiful barracks building in the 14th district at Hütteldorfer Strasse 188 still stands in its former glory.
