IR 99
The 99th Infantry Regiment was the regiment of the city of Znaim. The “Homeland Guard” (Heimatwächter) badge with the city skyline was already included in the country knowledge section of the site. I am now publishing the postcard made with the motif of the badge.
The regiment was assigned to the 7th Infantry Brigade in the 4th Division. This division was first in the II. Corps and fought with the corps in Galicia. Later it was assigned to the Isonzo Army for the 1917 invasion in Italy. After that, the IR 99 remained on the Italian front, later in the XXVI. (Hadfy) Corps in Tyrol.
