Kappenabzeichen on postcards

LIR 6

The sixth Landwehr regiment has already appeared with several badges (here and here). The regiment was based in the city of Eger in the Sudetenland and had a basically German-speaking crew. In this post I present another correspondence card of the regiment and the small horn of the Landwehr regiments.

The fact that the German (Austrian) and Hungarian regiments and units had much more badges made than the regiments speaking the languages of other nationalities, I think, reflects the different levels of war enthusiasm, or even the different degrees of loyalty to the ruling house.
