The 50th Infantry Regiment has been mentioned on the site several times. I also wrote here about the badge that is the subject of this post. The topic was put on the agenda again because a contemporary postcard was found, which could almost certainly have been the badge maker’s sample.

The image of the buck raising his rifle on the rocky terrain is surely a staged shot. You can even hazard a guess that it was made specifically for the preparation of this badge. This means that all the details of the badge match. The depiction of the movement, the details of the equipment, and even the face are accurate.
