Kappenabzeichen on postcards

IR 69

Quite a variety of cap badges were made for some regiments. There may have been many reasons for this, but it is quite certain that both the crew and the troop command could have liked them. Because the crew bought it, the commanders gladly allowed them (sometimes they let made it). In such cases, there is a disturbing abundance. It is unnecessary to repeat the brief summary of the regiment. Badges, on the other hand, often give no further idea. So then the entry will be much shorter.

I hope that even then I can compensate the reader with beautiful pictures of the wonderful badges. After all, this is the main profile of this site. In this case, I can make one more addition. The beautiful enamel badge on display, which also adorns one of the regiment’s post cards, is uncommon, but still quite well known. Fewer people know that there was a zinc plate badge with a similar motif, which in turn was made in a larger size than the enamel.
